Four points by Marcus Pettersson last night during the Pittsburgh Penguins’ giant crush

Swedish defenseman Marcus Pettersson delivered four assists as his Pittsburgh beat the New York Islanders 7-0 on the road.

The first goal of the match came at 06.44 into the middle act when another Swede, the forward Richard Rakell, stayed in front on a rebound and whipped the puck in. And then it just continued – at breakneck speed. In just over ten minutes, Pittsburg pulled away to 6–0.

In the last period played Marcus Pettersson via the teammate Kris Letang until Valtteri Puustinen who nailed the final result with his first NHL goal.

27-year-old Pettersson, who has played in Pittsburgh since 2018, has with the night’s harvest scraped together a total of ten points during the season.

Another Swede who distinguished himself this round was Marcus Johanssonwho scored his first two goals of the season as his Minnesota defeated Detroit 6–3.

Also Mika Zibanejad was credited with two assists in the Rangers’ 5–1 win over Washington at Madison Square Garden, making it eight straight games with at least one point.
