The 29-year-old was involved in four of the team’s goals – one goal and three assists – and helped Ryan O’Reilly to his fifth career NHL hat trick, among other things.
Forsberg arranged the 1–1 tie after 10.22 of the first period and then played until all of O’Reilly’s goals.
Mattias Ekholm was noted for an assist, to Edmonton’s 1–0 goal.
The loss was Edmonton’s eighth in the last ten games.
