All icebreakers except one have now been put into service. But the mild weather means that the workload is relatively low.

– We should have been around minus 10, 20 or 35 during the day and some nights with minus 30 in Norrbotten’s coastal area, but we haven’t had that yet, says Amund Lindberg, operations manager at the icebreaker management at the Swedish Maritime Administration.

Of the five icebreakers, three mostly assist shipping in the waterways around Umeå, while Atle is used up in the Gulf of Bothnia.
