At least four people have died in an avalanche in the French Alps, reports the local newspaper La Dauphine.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Chamonix.
French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin confirms that at least four people have lost their lives, in a post on Twitter.
According to reports, the avalanche was about 100 meters wide and had a fall distance of about one kilometer, reports the news agency AP.
