Icelandic police have arrested four men for preparing a terrorist attack. According to the police, several semi-automatic weapons and large quantities of ammunition have been seized at nine different locations.
The seizures and arrests of the suspects took place on Wednesday in the Reyjkavik region. About 50 police officers participated in the operation.
The four arrested are in their 30s. According to Prime Minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir, the National Security Council was notified when the police began the operation.
