Djurgården, which is third in the Swedish men’s football league, has released the coaching duo Thomas Lagerlöf and Kim Bergstrand.
Kim Bergstrand and Thomas Lagerlöf jointly took on the head coaching responsibility in Djurgården in 2019. In their opening season, they led the club to the Swedish championship.
Djurgården has won only one of their five most recent league matches.
The last match between Bergstrand and Lagerlöf’s coaching team was Stockholm’s local game against Hammarby, which ended in a scandalous atmosphere. The away team Djurgården lost the match 0-2.
The match was suspended in the second half on Sunday due to the throwing of flares and fireworks by Djurgården fans. The fight was played to the end on Monday without an audience. Djurgården has lost all league derbies of the season to AIK and Hammarby.
Finns play in Djurgården Miro Tenho, Adam Ståhl, Rasmus Schuller and Santeri Haarala. AIK has a chance to overtake Djurgården later on Monday in the standings.
