The fact that Sweden now meets the EU’s climate goals is the reason behind the previous red-green government’s high reduction obligation, reports Echo.
But when the government presented the proposal for a new reduction obligation earlier this week, nothing was presented.
Ebba Busch explains in Ekot’s Saturday interview that it is about the fact that the entire budget has not been presented yet.
– I think it can be good to tell even as a person in power, it doesn’t always turn out as you imagined, says Ebba Busch in the Saturday interview.
The government will increase the reduction obligation from six to ten percent. A reduction was one of the Tidö parties’ most important election promises.
– The important thing for us is reduced emissions overall, and it is above all the heavy emissions in industry and the heavy emissions in the transport sector that must be responsible for this, not individual households, says Ebba Busch.
The entire autumn budget will be presented on 19 September.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, the police were called to Mariatorget in Södermalm, Stockholm, due to a suspected serious assault.

Parts of the park on the square have been cordoned off and a crime scene investigation has been carried out.
– It is possible that an extra has been used, says Helena Boström Thomas.
No one has been arrested at this time. A preliminary investigation into suspected serious assault has been initiated.
– But we have a good investigative situation.

Almost all wind power projects were stopped in the first half of 2024, shows a report from Swedish Wind Energy.
The municipal veto was the main reason why none of the eleven applications for wind power on land and in the territorial sea that were finally decided in the first half of the year received permission.
During the first half of 2024, 12 out of 16 current projects on land-based wind power, 75 percent, were also stopped by the municipal veto.
Of the four projects that the municipalities approved, the Swedish Armed Forces stopped three, which means that only one project out of 16 could proceed in the permit review.
According to the report, the eleven projects could have produced approximately 16.7 TWh, which corresponds to two of Sweden’s existing nuclear power reactors, or the electricity use from the paper and pulp industry.
