All kinds of fruit and vegetables are brought to the store by cargo bike. Those products come from Everstein Estate. That has been running for about five years now, says Peter ten Have. He is one of the people who took the initiative to use the estate for the benefit of the village. Everstein estate started out as a neglected pear orchard. “The nettles were two meters high,” says Peter, pointing to some photos hanging in the greenhouse. The land belongs to the municipality of Vijfheerenlanden and could be rented. Peter, who happened to know gardening, decided to build a large greenhouse there. “That’s how you make plans, you look for funds and it was realized within a year.”
