Forza Horizon 5 will land in a few months on PS5. The kind of announcement that still makes part of the Xbox community hallucinate, which sees its exclusives go to competition over the years. A blow to collect, especially since Forza has always been considered one of the flagship licenses linked to the Xbox brand, alongside Halo and Gears of War. It must be said, however, that the terrain was already well prepared, between the incessant rumors for several months and the laying at Xbox and Microsoft who have continued to multiply the interventions to explain the importance of being present on all devices , regardless of competition. There is no longer any doubt about the future of publisher-thirds who looms for the American manufacturer, and whose latest acquisitions (like that of Activision-Blizzard) has not made it possible to explode the subscriptions to Xbox Game Pass (+only 2%). It is therefore a new era that begins for Xbox.
The Twitter PlayStation accounts hastened to relay the information and it is therefore next spring that Forza Horizon 5 will arrive on PS5, with this small precision: the game will be compatible cross-play. This means that players PlayStation, Xbox and PC will be able to play together. Note also that all the post-launch content of the Xbox and PC versions will be available Day One on PS5, which means no less than 900 cars available in the game, more than 40 thematic updates, two extensions and many more content. It is the Panic Button studio that takes care of the porting on PS5, in partnership with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games. And finally, know that a new free update, responding to the name of Horizon Realms will arrive soon and will be available on the three supports. What surprises!
