Fortnite: Update 28.00 for Chapter 5 Season 1

In Fortnite, Season 1 of Chapter 5 runs with Patch 28.00. We at MeinMMO summarize the patch notes for you in German.

That is new: Early in the morning of December 3rd, the servers went offline for Chapter 5 Season 1 maintenance. In the meantime, you can download patch 28.00 and experience some changes in the game soon. We’ll show you here what has changed.

Patch notes and new content for Chapter 5

We know this: Epic Games has now officially published the patch notes and we are listing them for you in summary and detail.

New POIs with their own character

With Chapter 5, Epic Games is bringing a new map with many POIs that players have never seen before. POIs include:

  • Ritzy Riviera – A chic port
  • Rebel’s Roost – An abandoned mansion
  • Reckless Railways – A major train station
  • Hazy Hillside – An alpine village
  • Grand Glacier Hotel – A hotel

    • Medallions with strong effects

    In Chapter 5 Season 1 you can encounter 5 bosses, each containing unique loot, including medallions.

    Bosses include:

  • Oscar
  • Nisha
  • Montague
  • Valeria
  • Peter Griffin

    • Once you have killed one of these bosses, you will receive a medallion. This medallion will slowly restore your shields. The more medals you have in your inventory, the greater the effect of shield regeneration.

    Please note, however, that you will be marked on the map with a radius and every player can visit you. The more medals you carry, the smaller the radius on the map will be.

    New cars and customizations

    Fortnite is bringing a new car to the battlefield – the SUV Grandeur TrailSmasher. This vehicle overcomes rugged terrain and mountains with ease. Additionally, Epic is introducing a new way for you to customize your vehicles. There is now a “Cars” section in your locker where you can customize the bodies, stickers and wheels.

    These customization options are only cosmetic and do not give you any advantages.

    New weapons and items for combat

    Fortnite rotates its meta in every new season. This time there are many new weapons and items that you can use in Chapter 5. The following are known:

  • Ballistic shield
  • A shield with a pistol – has infinite stamina, but fire drains your stamina
  • Gripping blade
  • A grappling hook with a knife on it
  • Cluster sticky grenade
  • A modified version of the plunger
  • Hammer pump gun
  • Automatic Rage Shotgun
  • Nemesis assault rifle
  • Striker assault rifle
  • Thunder burst submachine gun
  • Hyper submachine gun
  • Reaper sniper rifle
  • Ranger pistol

    • The items include the fruit “Flowberry”. This item provides you and your ally with shield at the same time when you consume it. You also get weightlessness.

    Weapon mods and workbenches

    In Fortnite there are now special weapon workbenches in vaults that you can use to modify your weapons. These modifications are attachments that you pay for with gold bars. Do you want a larger magazine or a sight on your AR? The workbench will help you!

    Important changes in Battle Royale

  • Medkits and shield potions immediately begin restoring your bars when used, and you can now move easily when using them
  • Restart buses no longer immediately reset your revival progress, but should now slowly decrease when your action is canceled. Progress from other teams can also be used to shorten the respawn even further.
  • At the start of a match you will be shown three match orders. You can now choose one that suits your gameplay and complete it over the course of the round. These orders replaced the daily orders. In each round you can choose a task that expires at the end of a round.
  • Buildings now have boards on the outside so you can pull yourself up like in parkour.
  • Fortnite has improved and changed the movements of your skins.

    The following items are not available in competition:

  • TrailSmasher
  • Sports car
  • Cluster sticky grenades
