Daniel “Taddl” Tjarks was one of the big stars of the early German YouTube scene and later also successful on Twitch and as a musician. In a new video, he now says how much he has hurt people around him over the years and says goodbye to his online persona.
Who is the person you are talking about? Daniel “Taddl” Tjarks has become known as a YouTuber and musician. Between 2018 and 2021, he also streamed regularly on Twitch. He was previously known for his “What the Fact” videos and Let’s Plays for Minecraft. Most recently, however, Taddl was mainly active as a musician under the stage name tj_beastboy.
The content creator had a carefully cultivated clean-cut image online, but he now wants to clean that up. In a YouTube video from July 14, 2024, he promises to tell the truth about himself.

“I’ve ruined my life”
How should it really be? The content creator says he has been working on his image since his teenage years. What others think of him has always been the most important thing to him. In reality, however, he is a “notorious liar, con artist and deceiver”. He also believes he may have a narcissistic personality disorder.
Taddl says that the huge discrepancy between his external appearance and his actual behavior is “absolutely destructive” if you get closer to him.
He reports, for example, how much his wife suffered from his behavior, especially during her pregnancy and after the traumatic birth of their daughter. At times she even believed that he was consciously pursuing the goal of destroying her, says the content creator.
But online, people keep saying that his wife must be “the luckiest person” because she “landed” the wonderful Taddl. Reading something like that while you yourself are suffering because of the person in question can make the situation worse, he explains.
Taddl says that despite his great success, he “ruined his life”.

What happens next? The content creator announces the end of his online persona “Taddl” and wants to withdraw from the internet for the time being. There is no more content on his YouTube account and Instagram profile. He wants to continue making music, but initially “just for himself.”
It is currently unclear whether and when he will upload something again.
Taddl criticizes idealization of influencers
Why is he making the video? In his video, Taddl addresses the current wave of influencer scandals, which has already led to the temporary end of the careers of two German Twitch stars in 2024. The content creator sees this as a good thing, because people would finally see that influencers should not be idealized.
Unfortunately, according to Taddl, fans are drawing the wrong conclusions from the scandals: Instead of realizing that influencers are also just people, many are now idealizing their remaining favorites even more.
As a Let’s Player of the “old guard” and as part of the hip hop trio Dat Adam, Taddl is an integral part of the childhood of many young adults. But he doesn’t feel comfortable being celebrated now for not having “any dirt on his hands”.
Therefore, Taddl has now decided to “expose” himself.

In his video, Taddl also admits to having exchanged inappropriate messages with young fans. Although he emphasizes that the young women were of legal age, he nevertheless exploited a power imbalance as an influencer with a large reach. He is ashamed of this.
