Prosecutor Marcus Nyman had asked for 4.5 years in prison, but the length of the sentence was two years.
“It is a relatively long sentence. I have read it briefly and can state that I share some of the district court’s assessments, but that I need to read and consider other assessments more closely,” writes Marcus Nyman in a text message to SVT Nyheter.
The man is also sentenced to pay damages to 88 of the plaintiffs totaling SEK 1,350,000. 78 plaintiffs have their application for damages rejected in the judgment.
The plaintiff’s assistants Elisabeth Massi Fritz and Sara Larsson had demanded damages of a total of seven million kroner, which in the judgment now became a total of kroner 1,742,000 as the co-defendant must also pay damages of kroner 392,000 to 35 plaintiffs.

But the man’s defense lawyer Per Eriksson does not think so, saying that his client “is satisfied” with the verdict.
Discovered in Gothenburg
The verdict comes just over a year and a half after the scandal came to light and the man was arrested by the police. It was when the police at Hisingen in Gothenburg went through a phone in another matter that the man was discovered.
The man has confessed to parts of the crime.
Lasted for eight years
For eight years, the former school employee had surreptitiously stalked clothed students with a focus on their bottoms and sex. The images had then been processed into child pornographic material which the man spread further. He also shared videos of him masturbating to the material he created.
A total of 166 girls were plaintiffs and all are or have been students at the English School in Karlstad.
“Sundsvall resident” also convicted
Another man, the so-called resident of Sundsvall, is involved in the same prosecution because he has filmed himself masturbating to child pornographic images and shared the material with the resident of Karlstad and other people. He is sentenced to probation, with instructions to undergo care and treatment via probation – and must pay a total of SEK 392,000 in damages to 35 plaintiffs.
Remuneration for plaintiff’s counsel is reduced
The costs for defenders and plaintiff’s counsel amount to SEK 3,150,256. The largest part goes to the plaintiff’s assistant Elisabeth Massi Fritz, who represented the affected students during the trial. Massi Fritz claimed SEK 3.5 million for completed work, but the district court wrote down the compensation to SEK 1,999,230.
