A prison sentence has been sought for Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, former President and current Vice President of Argentina. Federal Prosecutor Diego Luciani has sought a 12-year prison sentence for Kirchner on charges of corruption in public works.

‘BIGGEST CORRUPTION EVER KNOWN IN THE COUNTRY’

Luciani accused Kirchner of defrauding the state and being involved in a scheme to divert public funds during his two terms as president, 2007-2015. Defending the sentence he wanted for Kirchner, Luciani said, “This is probably the biggest corruption the country has ever known.”

According to local media, the sentence will be known within months, but Kirchner is expected to move the sentence to the supreme court, which will take years to reach a final decision. (UAV)
