UTRECHT – Former ombudsman Alex Brenninkmeijer has died at the age of 70. He fulfilled his role as National Ombudsman between 2005 and 2014. He then became the Dutch representative at the European Court of Auditors, where he would work until this summer. Brenninkmeijer has been a professor at Utrecht University since 2014.
