The former Minister of Oil, Vincent de Paul Massassa was in the crosshairs from the first of the coup d’état of August 30, 2023. In office for four years, he was indicted for embezzlement of public funds, embezzlement and money laundering .

For his part, Léon Armel Bounda Balondzi had left his position as Minister of Public Works almost a year before the August 30 putsch. At the time of his arrest, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Autonomous Road Maintenance Fund. He was imprisoned for corruption and criminal association. He would have received gift cars, according to a source close to the matter.

The last person incarcerated is Abdoul Houssein Moussavou. This is an economic operator prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, non-performance of a public contract and money laundering. Without experience, he obtained a construction site for the Franceville market at a cost of up to 4 billion CFA francs (approximately 6 million euros) while his competitors asked for 900 million CFA francs (approximately 1.3 million euros).
