The former Riksdag member Barbro Westerholm (L) is dead, reports the newspaper Senioren. She lived to be 89 years old.
– Without the efforts of liberal Barbro Westerholm, the fight for the rights of LGBTQ people would have taken longer in Sweden, says Carl Otto Engberg, chairman of LGBT Liberals.
Barbro Westerholm was elected to the Riksdag in 1988, where she served for 27 years, between 1988-1999 and 2006-2022. She was also chairman of Sweden’s pensioners association.
