Anders Besseberg from Norway, who led the International Biathlon Association between 1992 and 2018, has received a lifetime ban.

The complaint of criminal proceedings will be dealt with in the Borgarting Court of Appeal in late April, but the International Sports Court (CAS) has laid Besseberg’s lifetime ban. According to IBU, the recent decision of CAS discusses how there was a direct link between the use of prostitutes and the status of Besseberg as chairman of the International Biathlon Association.
