Many viewers have been looking forward to the sequel “Knutby – Christ’s bride”. But the sequel to the series, whose first season premiered in 2021, also raises feelings in residents in the resort and former members of the congregation.
It was 2021 that “Knutby” premiered. The series, which was broadcast in TV4, attracted large audiences and was loosely based on the so -called Knutby drama that occurred in 2004.

At the same time, some former members of the Philadelphia Assembly in Knutby stated that several aspects of the series were incorrect or exaggerated.

When the TV series has now gained a sequel, named “Knutby-Christ’s bride”, you have once again aroused reactions-both from residents in Knutby and former members of the congregation.
To SVT says a man who has lived in the resort in his entire life, that he has chosen not to take part in depictions of the Knutby drama.
– I can’t say they shouldn’t, but I’m not looking and that’s my choice. Culture for me is to unite people. With that, I think that these TV series are not a real culture, he says.
A former member of the Philadelphia Assembly in Knutby, who was beaten and harassed during her time in the congregation, has participated in an interview with SVT under pseudonym. She feels frustration that the story is taken up again.
– I understand that it can be exciting to pick up again and again, but I wish you heard from the production in some way. Sometimes it feels like there is no empathy with those affected, she says.
