(Finance) – It is scheduled for The Ilva commissioners’ inspection will begin on Friday 2 February in extraordinary administration, in the Taranto plant of Acciaierie d’Italia. In recent days the Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Ursorequested an intervention from Invitalia and the commissioners of Ilva in extraordinary administration in order to guarantee production continuity.

Faced with the risk of a total blockade and the slowdown in supplies and activities of the blast furnaces, according to internal sources “the Ilva commissioners requested Acciaierie d’Italia urgent updates regarding the operating status of the plant systems, the initiatives currently underway and the need for an inspection visit”.

The request comes following a note from the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, according to which Adolfo Urso “urged the commissioners of Ilva in extraordinary administration and the public shareholder Invitalia to carry out the necessary discussions with Acciaierie d’Italia and all the necessary actions in order to guarantee the production continuity of the Taranto steel plants”. Urso’s pressure arises from the need to involve the public shareholder Invitalia, which will become the majority shareholder, and the old factory management company.

The declarations of Rocco Palombella, general secretary of Uilm, also announce “an extremely serious situation in the Italian Acciaierie d’Italia plants, with risks for the safety of workers and production continuity”.
