The Government remains the only one in Italy to believe in a future of the former Ilva linked to ArcelorMittal – he declared Rocco Palombella, Uilm General Secretary –. These four years have not been enough, with the negative production record, thousands of workers on redundancy pay, uncertainties regarding the remuneration of thousands of contract workers, used as a shield to threaten the hypothesis of extraordinary administration, which despite seeing our opposition, however, should not be used as an excuse to take further time.”

“Moreover – added the trade unionist – the completion of theenvironmentalization, there are safety problems due to the absence of maintenance and constant provocations and humiliation towards workers. It is not acceptable that we have to wait until next January 8, when the Government will meet the leaders of ArcelorMittal, to find out their intentions.”
