Former Fortnite prodigy returns to Twitch and becomes the most-watched streamer in the world

Yes, is it 2018 again? At least that’s what you might think if you were on Twitch last week. Because Fortnite brought back the 6-year-old OG map from Chapter 1 and with it, many of the big streamers from back then experienced a new hype.

What kind of streamer is this? Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson was considered a prodigy in Fortnite and was already able to keep up with the pros at the age of 13. He was also successful on Twitch and was one of the most viewed Fortnite streamers in the world.

Recently, the now 19-year-old hardly played a role on Twitch. It only aired six times in 2023. He has been streaming regularly again since the beginning of November.

When you think back to the good old Fortnite days, you almost can’t ignore Ninja. The streamer was everywhere back then – but what actually happened to it?

A new era?

How are things going for Mongraal right now? Really good. The 19-year-old is currently streaming to an average of 20,500 viewers. That’s a nearly 500% increase compared to his last stream in June 2023 (via TwitchTracker). He is currently number 1 in Fortnite and even pushed past the big ninja (via sullygnome).

In the meantime, Mongraal was even the most-watched streamer and the fastest-growing streamer worldwide. However, for the last 7 days it has now slipped back to 5th place (via sullygnome, as of November 13th).

This is how you know Mongraal (attention, loud!):

There’s no denying that the Fortnite ace was able to benefit hugely from the hype surrounding the OG map. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, on October 30, 2023, he wrote that the return of OG Fortnite could be the start of a new era. It looks like Mongraal was right.

Joint streams with the controversial content creator Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins are also likely to generate additional hype. That wouldn’t have been possible until recently, because Twitch is pretty strict when it comes to joint appearances with banned streamers. However, the 18-year-old’s indefinite ban was only recently lifted:
