Kruin joined Elinkwijk at the end of 1956, where he played together with the brothers Stanley, Frank and Humphrey Mijnals and Charley Marbach. On his debut against BVV (the current FC Den Bosch, ed.) he immediately scored three goals. He was then immediately suspended, because he had previously agreed to play for Amsterdam’s Blauw Wit.
