Details of the accident emerged after the helicopter named “Robinson R 66”, carrying former Chilean President Sebastian Pinera and his entourage, crashed into Ranco Lake in the Los Rios region yesterday.

Pinera’s sister, Magdalena Pinera, who was on the helicopter, said in her statement that the former president told them shortly before it crashed, “You jump first, if I jump with you, the helicopter will fall on all of us.” she stated that she used the words.
In the statement made by the authorities, it was noted that the helicopter used by Pinera crashed into Ranco Lake shortly after take-off due to heavy rain and dense fog.
