Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced that foreign volunteer fighters would come to help Ukraine, and that the first convoy was about to reach the country. There are also ex-soldiers among those who went to the Ukrainian trenches to fight against the Russians.
“YOU CAN’T SIT AND WAIT”
British ex-Royal Marines sail for Ukraine. The Ukrainian press also published a photo of former British soldiers.
Answering journalists’ questions while waiting for the train to Kiev on the Polish border, the former British soldier said, “This is the beginning of the third world war, you can’t just sit and watch. I felt compelled to come to help.”
