Forest fires threaten settlements in Greece

According to the news reflected in the Greek media, the settlements of Kuvara, Lagonisi, Anavisos and Saronida began to be evacuated for precautionary purposes due to the fire that broke out at noon and spread to the environment in a short time.

The Greek Fire Service officials stated that the extinguishing efforts were intervened with 4 helicopters, 6 aircraft, 55 firefighters and 20 vehicles.

Mayor of Saroniko, Christos Ginis, participated in a television program and called for “urgent help”, stating that the flames had reached the settlement and some houses were on fire.
