Forest fires broke out in different parts of the South American country Chile. Many fire brigades were assigned to fight the fires concentrated in the cities of Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. As the flames spread to residential areas, the Valparaiso state government announced that 10 people lost their lives in the fires.
Around 30 houses were destroyed in the fires in the towns of Estrella and Navidad, southwest of the capital. The National Forestry Agency (CONAF) stated that 7 thousand hectares of land were turned to ashes in Valparaiso alone.
A STATE OF STATE WAS DECLARED
Chilean President Gabriel Boric announced in his post on his social media account that a state of emergency (OHAL) was declared to fight the fires. (UAV)
