There is a fire in a forest area in Nitta, between Borås and Ulricehamn. Rescue services are struggling to put out the fire and have now requested the support of MSB – which will assist with scooping aircraft.
– It will be a long-term effort, says Caroline Olausson, communicator at Södra Älvsborg’s Rescue Service Association.
The first alarm came in at 2 p.m. and with the help of drones, the fire could be located. About fifteen resources from the rescue service are on site and working to extinguish the fire.
– These include fire engines, tankers and pipeline vehicles.
MSB assists with aircraft
The rescue service has now requested support from MSB, which will assist with scooping aircraft.
– It will be a long-term effort and we expect to be there for many hours, says Caroline Olausson.
There is no information on what may have started the fire, but according to Södra Älvsborg’s Rescue Service Association (Särf), no buildings should be in danger.
– There are no houses nearby.
