A forest fire broke out in Penteli Mountain, located northeast of Athens, the capital of Greece. The flames, which grew with the effect of the wind, spread over a wide area despite all the intervention of the fire brigade.
EVACUATIONS MADE
According to the news of the Greek State Agency AMNA, residential areas close to the fire were evacuated as a precaution.
While some of the children treated at Penteli Children’s Hospital were transferred to other hospitals, some were sent home.
It was stated that the fire, which approached the residential areas, spread to some houses.
THE ARMY ALSO SUPPORTS
The Greek army also supports the fire extinguishing efforts, but the strong wind that is effective in the region causes the work to be carried out with difficulty. (AA-UAV)
