Foreign Ministry confirms: Swedish man dead in South Korea

The man died on December 20 and the next of kin have been notified. According to Euronews, which refers to local media, the man must have suffered from severe necrosis – but was denied care at 21 hospitals. The reason was the high operating costs, which the hospitals were worried the man would not be able to pay. After seven days, a hospital accepted the man and performed the operation. Despite a successful amputation, the man died of sepsis caused by pneumonia.
