KI researcher Ahmadreza Djalaralis is an Iranian citizen with a permanent residence permit in Sweden and has been sentenced to death in Iran since 2017.
According to the press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the meeting with the ambassador must demand that Djalali be released for humanitarian reasons so he can be reunited with his family.
They should also have stated that Djalali immediately receives the care he is in need of and repeated the requirement for consular access.
“At the meeting, Sweden’s clear protests were re -entered against the death penalty and requirements that it should not be enforced. Sweden’s and EU attitudes regarding the death penalty is very clear. We condemn the application of the death penalty and we always oppose it, everywhere and regardless of circumstances. ” Writes the Foreign Ministry in the press release.
