Foreign minister Elina Valtonen (collective) has apologized to Turkey on behalf of the government, the Minister of Finance Riikka Purran (ps.) old writings. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs tweeted that Valtonen apologized for Purra’s inappropriate comments to the Turkish Foreign Minister For Hakan Fidan.
Riikka Purra wrote in the past years Jussi Halla-ahon (ps.) To the Scripta blog’s guest book about “Turkish monkeys”.
– They do not represent our values and will never represent them. Finland values its relations with Turkey both bilaterally and as an ally, the foreign minister’s message.
Purra’s writings have become public in the Turkish media as well.
