The Ford Mustang turns 60 as a model in 2024, and ever since its inception, the car has been available with a large V8 without supercharging under the hood.
This is also the case in the new Mustang with its 5.0-liter V8, which can be seen as surprising as more and more automakers abandon the big engines in favor of smaller, more fuel-efficient options.

However, you get a little more performance if you choose the performance version Dark Horse, as the power is increased to 453 horsepower. Among other things, other camshafts, a new intake and double throttle provide for the increase in power.
The Mustang Dark Horse is also equipped with a torsen-type braked diff, thicker anti-roll bars and upgraded front dampers.

That Ford is still betting on big V8 engines may be surprising, but the company’s CEO Jim Farley recently said that it plans to build V8 cars as long as it can.
This is a big contrast from the classic Dodge muscle car brand, as the next generation Dodge Charger is expected to be offered with electric drive or a straight turbo six instead of a big V8.
