Forced to cancel matches due to gang violence

Christer Abrahamsson, club director in Sirius Football, tells Swedens radio.

— We have matches that have been canceled because we have opposing teams that don’t want to play against us, where we have been assigned planning time and so on. It is a general insecurity that we feel very well.

Sirius has in one statement also commented on the recent wave of violence. They write, among other things, that gang crime has affected everyone in Uppsala.

“Let us all, regardless of sport, regardless of association, continue to be a strong and positive force in building society. We must continue the work we are already doing, can we do even a little more, shall we do it, can we do something together within the sports movement – let’s do that too. Everything to create security and meaning for our children and young people in Uppsala.”
