He does not know how many years Theo has spent exactly in the tunnel. “I didn’t keep that up. No one by the way.” He does remember how terrible it was. “Everyone there was hardened, bitter and on. I too,” he says. And a little later: “Terrible things happened there. I once tapped someone who was there, but no response. That person turned out to be dead for two days.”
