“For the Worst Healer in ESO” – Player saves an old pizza box for 4 years in gratitude

In MMORPGs there are sometimes more and sometimes less friendly players. In addition to all the trolls that advise us to delete the account, there are also the helpful players that we look back on with joy. A fan of The Elder Srolls Online shares a heartwarming story with the community that he still thinks about to this day.

User SwornThane shares a story by Onedarkthought on the reddit forum that only got the attention it deserved in The Elder Scrolls Online community. Ondarkthought says he’s been an ESO player with an active guild for years.

What is the story about? One night he was on discord with his guild when his kids asked for a pizza from Pizza Hut. At the time, Ondarkthought couldn’t afford pizza, so he had to disappoint his kids.

However, four of his guildmates got together and called the local Pizza Hut. They ordered him and his children a pizza, on the box they left a special message:

For the worst healer in ESO.

Ondarkthought was so grateful and remembered this beautiful experience so fondly that he kept the lid of the pizza box that had the message on it four years later.

Maybe he and his guild are currently playing the brand new Necrom expansion of The Elder Scrolls Online. On MeinMMO there is a look at the new areas:

Here’s how the ESO community is reacting

In the comments, the fans are visibly touched by so much charity. They are happy that the user has come across such a great guild. We have collected some quotes from the comments section for you:

  • Medical-Enthusiasm56: “That was very kind of you, a good guild.”
  • cloud7244: “[…] It’s heartwarming that there are people like this out there. People always talk about how toxic MMO communities are, but stories like this prove they’re not. Hunger is something no one should have to deal with.”
  • SufficientBanana7254: “I played ESO between 2014-2018. Made friends I still talk to to this day. This was by far my best social MMO experience.”
  • There are other users who report on their most beautiful experiences. There are equally sad stories behind some of the comments. For example, user krakenbum tells how his house caught fire and his guild raised over $1,000 to help him out with clothes, food, and a roof over his head.

This anecdote is also heart-rending: User karmapathetic has been playing since 2019 and even met the love of his life through The Elder Scrolls Online, with whom he has been together for 2.5 years. Our MeinMMO author Kevin also found the love of his life through his guild.

karmapathetic also met his best friend through the game and sees him as a brother he never had. His pal even introduced him to his then-girlfriend before he got engaged to get his approval.
