The Nintendo franchise was made into a film 30 years before the Super Mario Bros. movie. 1993’s Super Mario Bros. ended in disaster for the cast and crew. cult director Quentin Tarantino has now shown the film in his cinema. And it showed the directors just how popular their work has become after three decades.

Super Mario directors are watching their film for the first time in 30 years

As Variety reports, the film was recently screened at Tarantino’s New Beverly Cinema. Directors Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel were also invited and saw the film for the first time since it hit theaters in 1993. Morton was delighted.

The experience was and has been a justification 30 years of bad feelings wiped away in one evening according to Morton’s co-director and wife Annabel Jankel. In some circles, the film is now considered a cult, although almost everything went wrong during the shooting of the first Super Mario film.
