Trump’s proposal to move the Palestinians out of Gaza has been shocked, but Netanyahu keeps the idea fresh.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nethanjahu has expressed its support from the US President Donald Trump For the proposal, the Palestinians move away from Gaza and says Israel is ready to implement the plan.
Fox News interviewed Netanyahua, who has been visiting the United States for several days this week. Trump presented his Gaza idea on Tuesday at a joint press conference with Netanyahu. According to Trump, the United States could take over Gaza and renovate the “Middle Eastern Riviera” from the war-torn area.
As part of the plan, the Gaza population would be transferred at least temporarily elsewhere. Population exile would be a war crime and the proposal has been widely condemned around the world.
However, Netanyahu praised Trump’s approach.
“President Trump’s suggestion is, in my opinion, the first fresh idea for years, and it has the ingredients to change everything in Gaza,” Nethanjahu told Fox News.
– Trump says nothing more than that he wants to open the gates and give them (Gazans) the opportunity to go temporarily elsewhere while we are physically reconstructed.
According to Netanyahu, Trump has not said that he would like to carry out US troops.
– Guess what? We do the job, the Prime Minister promised.
According to Netanyahu, Trump’s idea was a variety of endless spirals in Gaza.
– We leave, Gaza becomes occupied by terrorists again, and they use it as a base to hit Israel. It does not lead to anything.
The world’s largest open prison
The biggest challenge in Netanyahu’s opinion is to find a country that would be ready to receive the Gazans. According to Netanyahu, the Palestinians would only return to Gaza if they rely from terrorism.
There are over two million people in Gaza. Not only Gaza’s inhabitants but also the vast majority of the world are opposed to the transfer of Palestinians. The idea arouses gloomy memories of the Palestinians from the 1940s, when more than 700,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes in connection with the establishment of the State of Israel.
A significant proportion of Palestinians fled in 1948 from the present Israel area to Gaza. Israel occupied Gaza in 1967 in the Six -Day War. In 2005, Israel pulled his troops and dismantled his settlement in Gaza, but then began to surround the area with Egypt.
