Since the end of February, The Rookie fans have been able to enjoy new episodes of the popular police series again. While the 6th season has not yet come to an end in the USA, ABC has already decided on the future of the series with Nathan Fillion as LAPD officer John Nolan – and fans can look forward to it once again.
The Rookie Season 7 is coming: Police series with Nathan Fillion continues
As Variety reports, The Rookie will continue after Season 6 ends. One Season 7 has been officially confirmed by ABC, after the current season produced convincing ratings for the station. In the USA, more than 11.9 million people tuned in to the premiere of season 6 across all platforms highest numbers in the format since 2018 represents. This is the most important news for fans since the series was extended for a sixth season just over a year ago.

The Rookie follows John Nolan, who joins the Los Angeles Police Department in his 40s and has to find his way as the unit’s oldest rookie. Nathan Fillion is joined by Mekia Cox (Chicago Med), Alyssa Diaz (Narcos: Mexico), Richard T. Jones (Colleteral), Melissa O’Neil (Dark Matter), Eric Winter (Comet) and Jenna Dewan (Step Up). on the series’ cast list.
The series was developed in 2018 by Alexi Hawley, who remains involved with The Rookie as executive producer and showrunner.
When is The Rookie season 7 coming?
It is not yet known when the 7th season of The Rookie will start. The 6th season of the series is currently airing every Tuesday in the USA on ABC. In Germany, the new episodes can be seen in the original version with German subtitles one day later as a streaming subscription on WOW. The German dubbed version is available from this May 1, 2024 ready for WOW.
