Housing councilor Teus Meijdam admits: Vijfheerenlanden is fortunate to be the largest municipality in the province of Utrecht. So there is simply a lot of room to build and that happened in abundance last year. The municipality is building a lot of large projects, such as Hoef and Haag (about 1,800 homes, some of which are already occupied) and Sluiseiland Vianen. A total of 774 houses were added in 2023, increasing the total number of homes by 3.1 percent.
