The Finn finished second in Austria’s Kreischberg, losing only to Italy’s Flora Tabanelli.

Anni Kärävä scored the best ranking of his career at the freeski world cup in Kreischberg, Austria.

The 24-year-old Kärävä reached the top three in the World Cup big air race for the first time in his career, eventually finishing second in the race. Kärävä narrowly beat Italy in the final For Flora Tabanelli.

The final was counted as three counts, of which the best two were counted together in points. The Finn’s final score was 173.50 (1st score 89.00 and 3rd score 84.50). The winner Tabanelli’s total score was 175.50 (1st place 93.25 and 3rd place 82.25).

Austria came third Lara Wolfwho lost to Kärävä even narrower with a total score of 173.25.

Earlier in his career, Kärävä has reached a best of fifth in the world cup race in big air, most recently in March of last year in Tignes, France.
