For achievements you will soon get really powerful equipment

Achievements in World of Warcraft were mostly useless. But for the first time in the history of the game, achievements will soon have strong set parts.

Successes or achievements in World of Warcraft usually have no great use. You simply give a fixed point value. A few achievements grant additional rewards, such as titles, toys, or mounts. But there was never a clear “power gain” for the character. Until now.

Because with Patch 10.1 Embers from Neltharion that changes. You can even get animal set parts for achievements.

What’s coming in Patch 10.1? With the upcoming patch, for the first time there will be an animal set part as a reward for an achievement. The Dragonflight Season 2 Master parent achievement requires you to complete one of the three achievements below.

  • Dragonflight Keystone Master: Season Two – Reach 2,000 dungeon rating.
  • Challenger II: Dragonflight Season 2 – Earn at least the rank of Challenger II in PvP.
  • Heroic: Aberrus, Crucible of Shadows – Defeat all of Aberrus’ bosses on Heroic difficulty.
  • Completing one of these achievements will reward you with a Draconic Mark of Mastery. You can exchange this at a retailer for a heroic tier set piece, no matter what the piece is.

The achievement can be earned multiple times on the account, but each character can only receive one Draconic Badge of Mastery.

Why is Blizzard doing this? The intention behind it is clear. Blizzard tries to find a healthy balance in the distribution of animal sets. Especially at the beginning of a new season, tier set bonuses can bring a special boost in performance, later they are often a prerequisite for being included in groups at all.

Gaps can be closed by giving each character at least one set part of their choice at heroic level as a result of this achievement. It’s basically built-in bad luck protection that guarantees at least one set piece.

Most characters should already be getting set pieces along the way to this achievement, be it by visiting the Aberrus raid, Crucible of Shadows, or through Mythic+ and the weekly reward box.

What do you think about achievement gear coming soon? A good solution to alleviate the “problems” of the animal set? Or just the wrong way?

There are also serious problems at WoW right now: The developers are angry and are getting louder and louder.
