Now the star trio gets the ultimate tribute from SVT.
When the television channel dedicates an entire episode of “Hockey’s history” to “Foppa”, “Lidas” and “Sudden”, according to a press release.

Together, they have scored an incredible 3,376 points in 3,618 games in the NHL. They have won a bunch of Stanley Cup titles as well as several Olympic and World Cup golds.

We are talking, of course, as Swedish hockey’s golden generation with the great players Peter Forsberg, Nicklas Lidström and Mats Sundin. Now the Swedish star trio gets the ultimate tribute from the TV channel SVT.

Because already in 2019, the very first part of the acclaimed documentary series “The History of Hockey” was released. Where Swedish hockey lovers got to see old pictures and interviews with Swedish hockey’s great pioneers who Sven Tumba, Börje Salming etc.

Powerful moment

Now it’s time for the fourth part of the sleep documentary series and once again it’s the SVT favourites Jens Lind and Albert Svanberg which is back again to focus on Swedish hockey history. This time there will be a big focus on the blue-yellow super trio “Foppa”, “Lidas” and “Sudden”.

The documentary takes off in the early 90s and we get to follow the trio’s matchless careers up to the perfect end in Tre Kronor when all of them were involved in the decisive goal against Finland in the Olympic final in 2006. What today is considered one of Swedish hockey’s most powerful moment in history.

“Unknown details”

This documentary series celebrating Swedish hockey’s big three has been extremely awaited by hockey lovers around the country.
“A trio of young stars make a breakthrough in the 1990s: Peter Forsberg, Mats Sundin and Nicklas Lidström. They came to dominate Swedish ice hockey for two decades. We follow their journey from Three Crowns to the NHL and the Olympic gold in Turin 2006, where the Women’s Crowns also make their big breakthrough with Maria Rooth at the helm. The film offers images many have never seen, new interviews and stories about unknown details and decisive moments that give new perspectives on a sport celebrating its 100th anniversary in Sweden. The independent continuation of Hockey’s history by Jens Lind and Albert Svanberg, which was broadcast in three parts in 2019,” writes SVT in a press release before the documentary.

Swedish hockey fans don’t have to wait long either, because already in a week, Tuesday 15 November, the documentary “Hockey’s history – the golden generation” will be broadcast on SVT. And only two days before it is available to watch on SVT Play.
