Hear Jacob Widell Zetterström talk about what it’s like to have taken over Frank Lampard’s residence in the player above.
Former Djurgården goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström has had a good start in the new club Derby and in the mythical Championship. The 26-year-old has received full confidence from coach Paul Warne and in the opening eight rounds of the season he has kept a clean sheet three times.
– It is of course special to come to a new country and a completely new club. It means a lot to get this start, and I’ve had a lot of help all around. It has felt great and it is very fun to be there, says Jacob Widell Zetterström to SVT Sport.
What are the biggest contrasts between the Allsvenskan and the Championship?
– It goes very quickly, you don’t get a quiet moment. It’s not like you have time to stand and think about anything else. It pops and balls are pumped in. What you think the Championship should be, it is. It’s very, very fun.
There are reports that coaches Kim Bergstrand and Thomas Lagerlöf may not stay next year. How surprised were you when you heard about it?
– Given that you are at the top of the Allsvenskan, you have qualified for the European Games, you lost a cup final on penalties – I still have to say that it feels a bit rushed.
