Football: Victor Nilsson Lindelöf: “Fought to come back”

Sweden’s team captain Victor Nilsson Lindelöf has had a difficult period since the last national team meeting in March. In the league game that followed, he came off with an injury that kept him out of action until 25 May, when he had to play in the final minute of his Manchester United’s FA Cup Final win over rivals Manchester City.

– It has been a tough season. As injured as I’ve been this season, I’ve never been before in my career. I really fought to be able to get back to the last matches, says Victor Nilsson Lindelöf at the press conference in Malmö before the international training match against Denmark.

In the club team Manchester United, Lindelöf is used to having Rasmus Höjlund in his team. But at Parken, he is up against the Danish striker.

    – We have talked a little. It will be fun to play against him, I have never played against Denmark at senior national team level. It will be a lot of fun to feel that feeling, says Lindelöf.

Sweden meets Denmark at Parken on Wednesday, kick-off at 19:00.
