Football: Victor Lindelöf talks about the injury: “It was a nerve problem”

This weekend, Victor Lindelöf played the entire second half for Manchester United in the 0-0 match against Aston Villa in the Premier League. It was the first time since the eighth of June that the centre-back played a game.

– It is very nice to be back and it was nice to get 45 minutes in the last game at home in the club. The body feels good, then it’s up to the coach if I play, says Victor Lindelöf the day before the meeting with Slovakia in the C division of the Nations League.

A toe injury has kept Lindelöf out of match squads at the Premier League giants and at the recent national team gathering where Sweden opened the Nations League group stage with wins against Azerbaijan and Estonia.

– It was a nerve problem, which I had for a very long time. I didn’t need surgery but I needed to fix it up a bit, simple as that.

Sweden plays Slovakia away on Friday, the group stage match kicks off at 20.45.
