The preliminary investigation in which Pontus Jansson appears shows that he reacted with laughing emojis to an anti-Semitic statement in a chat conversation. During Monday afternoon, however, a new version of the chat was spread which could put Jansson’s laughing emojis in a new light.
In the new version, a number of messages are written between the anti-Semitic statement and Jansson’s reply.
– It is extremely unfortunate if the chat conversations published in the preliminary investigation document do not correspond to the original chats, which appears to be the case, says Pontus Jansson’s legal representative Viktor Isero, and then adds:
– The chats that are now circulating are the ones that we got the idea of are correct and we have no reason to question that.
Have you seen the original chat with your own eyes in Pontus Jansson’s mobile?
– No I have not.
“Call him in”
The case’s prosecutor, Henrik Nordquist, says that they will investigate this further.
– I don’t know if it is manipulated. If Pontus Jansson has it, we can call him in and get the information available. We want everything to be right. There has been no purpose or agenda to manipulate in any way. We will check if the information is available. We’re not getting into the physical WhatsApp app, he says.
“Are there differences”
To the Football Channel says Malmö FF CEO Niclas Carlnén, the club still does not want to draw any conclusions.
– We are taking this seriously, we have announced this before. But at the same time, we don’t want to draw any conclusions yet because we have just received the preliminary investigation. There are differences between it and what we know from the conversations we had with Pontus earlier. So I don’t want to draw any conclusions from it yet. We must have more time to be able to get all the facts and then be able to make a decision, says Carlnén.
