It has been sanded on details and filled on tactics. The all -Swedish preseason is over and the premiere starts with a bangs between Djurgården and Malmö.
– It will be awesome, says Djurgården’s coach Jani Honkavaara.
The coach clear: need to be crazy
He points out that some details in the mentality of the players that become important for the big match.
-We also pressed it before the Pafos match (Conference League tone), where we said we needed to be a little crazy and that we needed to have balls. This is how we have trained and that is what we press. We have to become more nasty than we are now, he says and develops his reasoning.
– We do not have to play ugly, but it may be required on some occasions. Opponents will want to do the same to us, it is normal. It is important to mark early.
MFF comes into the new season as reigning champion and is pointed out by the media and players as favorites.
– I think they deserve the favorite. I hope they already have the champagne in the fridge. It would be best for me, he says with a smile.
– I think we are “underdogs” and like that we are too. This means that we need to be mentally ready.
Expects “trash talk”
In this type of match, the excitement is of course high – something that usually means some “trash talk”. Right -back Adam Ståhl, for example, expects some discussions in the midfield between teammate Daniel Stensson and MFF’s Anders Christiansen.
– I don’t usually be the one who starts such, but if someone says something to me, I go on the absolute worst you can hear, adds the defender.
How nice it would have been to beat Malmö in a premiere? Very much, says Ståhl.
– Malmö is Malmö. If you win over them, you know that you do the right stuff. It always feels good to beat them.
The match between Djurgården and Malmö will be played on Saturday starting 15.00.
