Njie was substituted in the 65th minute, third game with playing time since debut on September 20, and struck after ten minutes on the pitch.
A defender failed to head back to his own keeper and Njie, wearing the number 92 on his back, cut like a cobra and twisted the ball to himself, catching it just before the keeper could get out and round in a balancing act to roll in 1-0.
Njie, who joined Torino’s youth team from Bolänge club Forssa BK in 2021, jumped over a couple of billboards and celebrated in front of the fans and was quickly embraced by happy teammates.
“A dream”
– It is a dream moment in his career, says the commentator in the EA Sports broadcast and it was certainly a dream come true for Njie.
– It was an incredible feeling. I am very happy with my first goal in Serie A. To score in this stadium is amazing. A dream that will make me work even harder to get better, says Njie to DAZN.
There is great potential in Njie.
– I am happy for him. Now he has to keep his feet on the ground, because this is just the beginning, says Torino coach Paolo Vanoli.
