It was goalless after regular time and the match looked like it would go to penalties. Then Stina Blackstenius stepped forward and sent the title to Arsenal.
After a tangled situation, the Swedish national team striker was able to make it 1-0 in the 116th minute.
The goal was match-deciding and Arsenal have thus won their seventh league cup victory, the most of any team.
– It was a long and tough match but we won in the end and now we can celebrate with all the supporters, says Blackstenius.
In Chelsea, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd started, while Zecira Musovic sat on the bench the whole match.
The Norwegian collapsed on the field
A few minutes before extra time, ugly pictures were released, when Arsenal’s Frida Maanum collapsed on the pitch.
The Norwegian 24-year-old was carried out on a stretcher and Arsenal then announced that she is conscious and in a stable condition.
“She will be closely monitored by our medical team,” writes the club on X.
