Football: Simon Åström about the mass shooting in the hometown of Örebro: “Hard to describe”

Eleven people, including the perpetrator, died after the mass shooting at Campus Risbergska in Örebro on February 4.

Simon Åström has in recent years been chairman of Swedish elite football. In the video above, he tells how he hopes and believes that sports can be a healing force.

Simon Åström has not grown up in Örebro, but in Kumla two miles away, but has lived in the city for a long time and has a strong connection here – not least from the years as CEO of the football club Örebro SK.

Expected to take over as SvFF chairman in March

When SVT Sport meets him for an interview next to the football field at Grenadjärvallen, a man cycles and greets congratulations on the move with reference to Åström being proposed to become new chairman of the Swedish Football Association.

– In football circles, I’m probably a pretty well -known profile here in town.

On March 22, the Swedish Football Association holds its annual meeting and then Simon Åström is expected to succeed Fredrik Reinfeldt as chairman, as he is the Nomination Committee’s proposal and the only remaining candidate.

What does Åström think in any much debated football issues? See more in the videos below.
